THE GIRL IN THE MIRROR
Sometimes the scariest person is yourself

Chapter 1: The First Glitch
Maya stared at her reflection, tying her hair into a messy ponytail. It was 6:45 AM on a Monday—too early for a sixteen-year-old to function properly. Her uniform hung loosely on her thin frame, and dark circles under her eyes told the story of another sleepless night.
She raised her hand to fix a stray strand of hair.
But something felt... off.
Maya froze. Her hand was still mid-air, but in the mirror—her reflection's hand was still coming down. Like it had moved a split second after she did.
"Stop it," she whispered to herself, rubbing her eyes. "You're just tired."
She waved slowly. The mirror waved back. Perfectly synchronized.
See? Fine. Everything was fine.
Maya grabbed her bag and rushed out, the strange moment already dissolving into the chaos of Monday morning. She didn't look back at the mirror.
If she had, she would have seen her reflection—still standing there, watching her leave with an expression Maya had never worn in her life.
