As a boxer in your ring

I would fight for you

but never against you

unless I must fight for us

.

As a dancer on your stage

I would make love to you

only when you desire

and when you stir the desire in me

.

As a farmer in your field

I would toil for you

but never ask you to toil

and still cherish the times we work together

.

As a florist in your garden

I would love you

but never take love from you

save for when it is given

.

As a singer in your ear

I would croon for you until I'm out of air

I would let all my secret slip

and let you keep the ones you wish

.

As a painter in your eye

in art, I would immortalize you

so generations to come will remember

you—your heart—your love

.

As a priest in your temple

I would worship you, devote my being to you

I would give you my soul

and never ask for so much as a tear in return

.

but I cannot do these things if you will not let me...

.

So for you, I would be a wanderer instead

without a prayer, I would bow my head

without a guiding light, I would memorize these lines

without a key, I would sing

without a flower, I would sow

without a plow, I would reap

without a stage, I would dance

and without a ring...

.

I would prevail...

.

A systems thinker dedicated to the task of disillusioning and reconciling a fragmented world through art, design, music, and story.
