Everything was banned

So many rules under the new regime

Books were no longer allowed

Pens were not permitted

There would be zero technology

Yet this did not stop the poets

Where there was once graffiti you could now find only poetry

Poets were now singers and singers poets

Where buskers once begged there stood poets

Since there was no more art or galleries there existed only poems

They tried to them writing but there was only more words and poems everywhere

Even when they gave an evil stare

Or challenged them to a date

This only resulted in more flair

The poets couldn't care

The powers that be just failed to see

That when you disagree

Or they make some decree

It won't cause anyone to flee

But for you and me

We will continue with our oratory

They thought these laws could be installed

But everyone was appalled

Their ideas were flawed

It didn't matter what they were called

Or what issue they fell on

This is the poets rebellion
