cinderella didn't lose her mind

in spite of being oppressed by the cruel and unkind

because she stayed soft and loving in heart,

she protected that work of art.

.

if yours was poisoned by doses of hate

know that it is not ever too late

to heal the damage that’s been done

to get to the ball

to live a life of fun

.

into the blame game do not succumb

don’t poison yourself for anyone

and, as a rule of thumb

cry each time that you want to run

.

because you’re running from your own fear

and you will keep that repeating year after year,

the only way is through

must become your point of view

.

don’t waste time trying to sue

leave the past firmly in your rear view!

for once you reach happily ever after

you’ll soon forget their evil laughter.

Wow, I love the concepts you picked out of Cinderella. The idea of going 'through' and not around has merit! Brilliantly written as always!

  • "Cry each time that you want to run". That's sage advice! Loved your poem!

Quite so. Except I am not convinced that happily ever after is a thing we ever reach.
