I think about writing more than I write, but call myself a writer as opposed to a thinker.

Harry Potter
A cornerstone of my childhood. Despite the plot holes and controversies, this story is something that stays with me. When summer turns to autumn, I cross my fingers that an owl will swoop down with my Hogwarts acceptance letter. The letter never comes, so I settle with rewatching the movies.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians
A middle-grade series, highlighting children with disabilities as demigods. In this world, differences are not hindrances, but superpowers. Follow Percy and his friends as they come of age while saving the world from Kronos. These Greek mythological stories made me feel seen and made my childhood magical. Thank you, Rick.

The Ugly Duckling
I'd always felt like an outsider in my own home, despite my mother's best efforts to make me feel whole. When I was born, I was very large and ugly. My face was bruised by the doctor's hands as he struggled to pull me from my mother's womb. My siblings, on the other hand, were slender and delicate on their days of birth. Born "naturally" as opposed to my surgical removal. However, my mother never loved me any less for the pain I put her through.

The Colleen Hoover Effect
No, Mom. I will not write Colleen Hoover-esque books, no matter how much money they make. I don't think glorifying pseudo-incest and domestic violence is ever a good thing. There must be better books for people to read. Lily Bloom, the florist... Really?

How do you do it?!
Good morning, afternoon, or night depending on where you are in the world and when you're reading this. Today I'd like to talk about a piece of Vocal etiquette, specifically the topic of reading and leaving comments for fellow creators who support your work.

Skinwalker II
The snow outside had footprints, but I couldn't hear a soul in the silence of the night. The full moon rose above the hills, while the sharp sensation of cold ran down my spine. When I turned my back on the wilderness to make my way inside, I saw the reflection of myself staring back at me, but this person had dead eyes.
