NYCC 2018 Chaos
Last month the second most popular convention came around, New York Comic Con (NYCC) had their weekend (Oct. 4-7) for fun and entertainment. The Jacob Javits Center once again didn't disappoint this year. Some faces that took a few years to come to NYCC such as Alex Kingston aka River Song from BBC's Doctor Who, David Tennant aka The Tenth Doctor from BBC's Doctor Who and Bartemius Crouch Junior from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, and Matt Smith aka The Eleventh Doctor from BBC's Doctor Who. The convention also had an old favorite and on Saturday (Oct.6) I experienced the longest intimidating line for this one person's autograph, Jason David Frank aka Tommy Oliver from Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which I took a picture with and got my white ranger limited edition boxed action figure signed.

Conjikan 2018
This year’s Conjikan was brilliant. I can’t believe how smoothly everything went, how amazing the rest of the volunteers and the staff were, and how awesome all my new friends are! That’s something I have always loved as a cosplayer. The community is (usually) pretty incredible, and everyone comes together and gets what they need to get done no matter the circumstances. I had such a great time that I’m finding myself struggling to put this all into words, but I would really like to share how fantastic this con was and why you should attend next year.

Comic Con
Everyone and their mothers know about Comic Con. It gets brought up in pop culture a lot with shows like the Big Bang Theory. It is supported by a gigantic community of people. Even if you have been living under a rock, while in the Phoenix or San Diego area, you have to know about Comic Con. It is an amazing way for people who are passionate about different forms of entertainment, such as comics, games, shows, movies, etc., to get together and express themselves. Goods are sold, people dress up, competitions are held, games are played, parties are thrown, and there are panels of people. It really is a paradise for many. You might ask why I am bringing up Comic Con now. Well, I have made it my goal to cosplay this year and it be legit. I'm talking about making it look like I was a professional, or at least try to. Since I've been thinking a lot about this recently, it brought up some old memories I had when I attended in the past.

Queen City Anime Convention: Year 2 Recap
Queen City Anime Convention (QCAC), held August 20-23rd, is in their second year as one of Charlotte, NC's most popular anime conventions. Last year—their first year—QCAC was a 1-day convention and had such an amazing turnout that this year the convention expanded to a full 3-days.

AkaiCon 2018 Recap
AkaiCon held on July 27-29, 2018 in Lebanon, Tennessee, has reached its fifth year as one of Tennessee's best anime conventions. Last year, the up and coming con was held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel and faced issues with not having enough parking and venue space. This isn't necessarily a bad thing for a con—needing more space than anticipated is better than not being able to fill a space. This year AkaiCon moved to the Wilson County Expo Center, a much larger venue with loads of parking and venue space.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Recap
Another Comic-Con has come and gone and we are left with some amazing things to look forward to in the not so distance future for TV and film. Almost 150,000 people flocked to San Diego to be the first to see exclusive content from their favorite TV shows and see new trailers for the most anticipated blockbusters.

Hyper Japan Haul
Hyper Japan is by far one of my favourite conventions in the U.K. It has a special place in my heart as it was this con that I took my close friend Vee to when it was hosted at the O2, a few years ago. I also met my best friend, Parry in the winter convention when it was hosted at Tobacco Dock. For me, Hyper Japan has been one of the best places to learn about Japanese culture and trends and meet a wide range of companies.

Walker Stalker Con and Heroes & Villains Fan Fest Chicago 2018

I was thrilled to learn both Walker Stalker Con, and Heroes & Villains would take place under one roof. I honestly didn't know what to expect when I walked through those doors. Anime Boston 2018: A Review
It has been many years since I started going to this Convention, 12 years accounting for the ones I had the misfortune of not being able to go to. This was the first year where there was no stress, no one to follow me around either as a creeper or as a lost puppy. It is a new beginning for me, and those I find most precious to me.
