The DCU's Joker: My Top Picks For The Clown Prince Of Crime
Who could play Batman arch enemy next?

Barry Keoghan may be our Joker for Matt Reeves' Batman universe, but we're yet to see who will swagger into the role for the DCU.
It's going to be a while before we see who takes up the clown make-up next, but that gives us some fun in pondering on who the lucky actor will be. I've got my top picks here, so let's see if you agree?
Bill Skarsgard

An obvious choice, but there's a reason for that.
Put aside Scarsgard's take on Pennywise in the It franchise. This guy definitely has the depth in general for a role like this.
He can play dark very well, and he knows how to balance it out with humour like a pro. It would be a master stroke to have him stepping in to play the Dark Knight's greatest enemy.
Lukas Gage

Probably not who you would expect, but we all need an underdog.
Much like Skarsgard, take away his obvious finger point to being in the Smile movie series. That isn't what's earning him a place on this list.
Gage may not always be the top the call sheet, but that's what makes him such a great choice. from roles in projects like The White Lotus, we know his acting his top notch. These kinds of roles are always best when it's someone unexpected, and for him to take such a leap into stardom with a role like this would work great.
Hunter Doohan

He's played creepy before. Why not go three for three?
Doohan has mainly cut his teeth on his maniacal roles in the Wednesday Netflix series and last year's Daredevil: Born Again. Each of these roles had him playing nutcases and really creating an eery atmosphere.
Maybe that makes him too much of an obvious, on-the-nose, choice. Nevertheless, does it making him a bad choice?
He's quite a young and inexperienced actor who may struggle with the weight of the role, but there's no doubt that he'd nail it with a different take on things. Think Cameron Monaghan's take on the character from the Gotham TV series.
Will Poulter

Who wouldn't love this take on things?
Poulter got his face known with comedy earlier in his career. Literally in his younger teen years. He's since then gone on take more serious rules, including villainous; take at look at the Maze Runner movies for instance.
He's also stepped into the superhero role before, playing Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 just a few years back.
This guy really knows how to steal your gaze, so it would be a very fun and enjoyable casting for sure.
Jack O’Connell

Another underdog, but think about it.
Jack O'Connell has done nothing but soar higher and higher since his scene-stealing performance in TV series Skins almost 20 years ago. He's since rubbed shoulders with the likes of Angelina Jolie and played some crazy characters in his own right.
Cook's sense of humour. Remmick's mesmerising persona. Jimmy Crystal's maniacal antics. Blend this acotr's filmography and you've got a surprising but welcome take on The Joker.
Aesthetic-wise, you can clearly see a sharper look to the Joker too, echoing back to what Jack Nicholson brought to the role.

What do you think? Reckon any of these men would have what it takes for the coveted Joker role? Or think other actors would be a better fit? Let us know your thoughts!
