Haunted Stones River National Battlefield
Just outside of Nashville, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is Stones River National Battle Field. It is here that the Battle of Stones River occurred from December 3, 1862 until January 2nd of 1863. Over 78,000 men from the Union and Confederate sides clashed in this three day battle. The clash resulted in more than 24,000 casualties and almost 3,000 dead. The battle was a Union victory, with the Confederate's withdrawing on January 3rd.

1) The Myrtles Plantation: St. Francisville, Louisiana Built in 1796 by General David Bradford, this beautiful Antebellum plantation has a rich and violent history. The most popular (and ghostly) legend that I have heard about this location is the legend of Chloe. Chloe was a slave girl who ended up accidentally killing her master's children and wife. How does one ''accidentally'' kill several people? Oleander. Oleander is one of the most toxic plants in the world. The story is that Chloe desperately wanted to impress her master, so she decided to bake a cake. She laced the cake with the deadly oleander plant. Her plan was to just make them sick and then nurse them back to health, but things didn't quite go according to plan. All of the children and the master's wife ended up dying from oleander poisoning. When the master found out what had happened (it is rumored that other slaves who knew of her plan actually told him the truth), he hung Chloe on the property. Other than the spirit of Chloe, there are plenty of other spirits who are rumored to haunt The Myrtles Plantation. The Woodruff family owned the plantation during the early 1800's. Two of the Woodruff's three children ended up succumbing to Yellow Fever and passed away in the house. Their ghosts are said to wander the property and it is said that they're playful spirits. Other spirits include a murdered voodoo priestess and the spirit of Mr. Winter, a former owner who was shot on the front porch and ended up passing away on the seventeenth step of the inside stairwell. The plantation is also rumored to be built over Native American burial ground (and as we all know, building anything over sacred ground is a huge no-no). The Myrtles Plantation is currently a bed and breakfast (that's right, you can actually sleep here) and is also available for tours.

The Hume Hotel
The Hume Hotel in Nelson British Columbia is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in the city. Build-in 1898, by Fred, and Lydia Hume. Back then it was extragivant, a modern wonder, with steam heat and electricity, hundreds flocked to be part of history. Rich and poor enjoyed the ammenties provided. Some say the owners and guests have come back even after death. Over time guests have reported strange encounters, some feel as if they are being watched or followed into their rooms and down hallways when there is no one else around. Some say that the origonal owners still reside there.

She was pregnant with her first child; he was a successful bonds tradesman on Wall Street. It was 1989, a successful man with a budding new family needed to find an emblem of his success. It wouldn’t be gold cuff links or a new Rolex watch, this time he would search for a house. A house to accommodate his first-born child and beautiful young bride but also show the world how well he’d done. And he had certainly done well. But he hadn’t heard the rumors, knew nothing of the local lore in Nyack, New York, he was perfectly oblivious and blissfully unaware when he stroked a check for 32,500 on a down payment for the stately mansion overlooking the Hudson. Perhaps he wouldn’t have minded if he knew, perhaps he would have dismissed the stories of poltergeists and hostile ghosts. In fact, it was likely he would, but he sued because he wasn’t given the option to.

Particularly in this case I have a long lasting infatuation with author Stephen King since I was in High School. For me, he is definitely an inspiration. After I finished High School I wanted to be a writer (still do).

The Master of Horror’s House
It was a gloomy day - the cold, quiet, solemn kind - when my family and I made the long journey to Bangor, Maine. We had spent over 7 hours escaping a tropical storm. Back home in New Jersey, the power was cut, houses were flooded, and the fence in our backyard had been damaged from a fallen tree. But in the northeastern part of the United States, all you could feel was leftover tension.

This meant I got to visit a variety of scary places including the site of the worst nuclear disaster in human history, the home and death place of Europe's most prolific female serial killer, and of course the resting place of black death victims in the city considered to be the Witches Capital of the world.

The most haunted mansion in the region has a very violent past. In the mansion itself or on the grounds ten people were murdered. The mansion is Myrtles Plantation which is located on the outskirts of St. Francisville. At present, it is a popular bed and breakfast inn owned by John and Teeta Moss.

An Absent Love, An Angry Spouse, And A Murder
Just eight miles north of Decatur, Nebraska, lays a hill overlooking the Missouri River (located on an Omaha Indian Reservation). There lays a pile of dirt approximately 45 feet high which marks the burial site of several Omaha Chiefs, including Chief Blackbird. The Chief was buried in the year 1800 and in a way of sitting upright on his horse. The hill itself is said to be haunted but not by Chief Blackbird himself, but a young lady who was murdered.
