The Quiet Reality of Christmas
Christmas is often portrayed as a season of effortless joy. From storefront displays to television commercials, the message is clear: this is a time for happiness, laughter, and togetherness. The phrase “beer and skittles” captures that idea perfectly—suggesting ease, comfort, and carefree pleasure. Yet for many people, Christmas tells a more complicated story.

The Power of Saying “No”
For many of us, saying “no” feels uncomfortable—even wrong. We worry about disappointing people, being misunderstood, or appearing selfish. So we say “yes” when we’re tired, overwhelmed, or stretched thin, convincing ourselves that keeping the peace is more important than protecting our own.

The One Mindset Shift
For years, I thought the problem was discipline. If I could just try harder, wake up earlier, stay more consistent, and follow the right formula, everything would finally click. Success, peace, confidence—surely they were on the other side of more effort.

In 2025, I think most millennials are familiar with the art of scamming. We grew up with dial‑up, chain emails, “your car’s extended warranty” voicemails, and that one cousin who swears their crypto coin is totally legit. Scammers have a variety of mediums these days. There's the outright scams, you fork over money for something that doesn't exist. Sometimes they try to steal your financial information hoping to commit fraud (joke's on them if they try to steal non existent money from my bank accounts). There are those scams where they try to get you to unknowingly commit check fraud for their benefit. Then there's the scams where you do actually receive something, but it's not anywhere near the quality promised. Sometimes these scam items are vitamins that offer little to no benefit beyond typical OTC medications for twelve times the price, sometimes it's a cheap Chinese knock off item that breaks after one use. One particular scam that tickled my funny bone was when a woman bought what she assumed was regular furniture at an unbelievable price point only for it to be incredibly expensive doll furniture.

I Stopped Chasing Motivation—and Everything Changed
M Mehran For years, I thought motivation was the secret ingredient everyone else had and I didn’t. I watched videos at 2 a.m. titled “Wake Up at 5 AM and Win at Life.” I bought planners with gold-embossed covers. I downloaded productivity apps that promised to turn my chaos into color-coded clarity. For about three days, I felt unstoppable. On day four, I was back on the couch, scrolling, wondering what was wrong with me.
